Dale M. Cain
Founder and Executive Director
Dale Cain is Professional Nutrition Specialist and has over 13 years of work experience in the health promotion industry. Dale Cain has worked in community nutrition education programs for more than 10 years. She is a graduate from Professional Career Development Institute and Roosevelt University where she received her bachelor's in Business Management with a concentration in Sales and Marketing. Dale Cain has worked with Near North Health Service Corporation where she managed and oversaw a community nutrition education program and a cooking class initiative of Northwestern Medicine and West Humboldt Park Healthy Community Initiative.
Dale Cain is dedicated to promoting health, wellness and fitness through nutrition education and hands on cooking classes to families, children, and seniors.
Regina Hopkins MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Director of Health Education & Program Director
Regina Hopkins is a Family Nurse Practitioner serving the south-side of Chicago. She has
worked in the medical field for over 13 years. Her areas of experience include women’s health, family medicine, acute care, and chronic disease. She has traveled internationally and completed research in Bangkok, Thailand focusing on body image, self-concept, and personal health behaviors for adolescent females. She works diligently to promote education and disease management for patients with diabetes and heart disease in underserved communities.
She has a passion for mentoring young women, and currently attends a local ministry where
she has served as an inspirational speaker at a young women’s purity conference. She is also
the founder of IRISE (Respect, Influence, Success, and Empowerment), an online organization
devoted to displaying positive and motivating images and messages that edifies, encourages,
and uplifts women of color.
Emma Cunningham is currently employed with Southwest Airlines. She was awarded the prestigious President’s Award in Dallas Texas in 2005 and continues to be recognized as a dedicated, hardworking, and loving spirit from both the company and the valuable customers. She started her career with United Airlines in 1972 and in 1973 she became an international flight attendant with World Airways in Oakland California where she assumed the role as chief flight attendant. As chief flight attendant, she managed and monitored flights by ensuring that passengers were safety and comfortable.
As a champion of the golden rule, Emma’s customer relations skills is a prime platform for her to share the mission of Advocate for Community Wellness to those she meet on an everyday bases. Her job is to inform the public of the many empowering and educational benefits that Advocates for Community Wellness has to offer.
Demitria Jett, Public Health B.S.
Event and Project Coordinator
Demitria H. Jett is a creative individual and one who enjoys educating people, Demitria has used her creative knack as a tool while mentoring the youth as well as women that have abusive backgrounds. A member of Destined to Win Christian Center (Park Forest, IL), Demitria serves on the Business Leadership Team, as a Finance Manager, Youth Church Teacher, and member of the liturgical dance team. She also participates alongside her husband as Director of the Global Outreach Missions Ministry.
Demitria received her BHS in Community Health, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from Governors State University in May of 2017. She served as a member of the GSU Wellness Club, volunteered for the Amita Design Healthy Aging challenge, and formed a focus group for the Chicago Heights Healthy Alliance. As an undergrad, she received an honors award and was elected a member of the Alpha Eta Society of Allied Health.
Evangelist LaVada Patterson
LaVada Patterson is an active and dedicated member of the faith community since 1973. LaVada Patterson has held various positions in leadership prior to her current church home such as Sunday School teacher, assistant Sunday School Superintendent, church treasurer for 10 years, taught women's singles classes, a member of the tact and witnessing team, president of the pastor's aid committee, served on the board of trustee, a licensed Cook County Jail Ministry and a member of the Mother's Board. LaVada Patterson on the President's Council Committee with Assistant Chaplain Pastor Virginia Silva and she was ordained for the office of an evangelist of One Church One Addict.
Franklin Taylor is the Executive Chef at Central Plaza, a residential home for adults. He has over 20 years of professional culinary experience. Chef Franklin has worked with Cooking Matters, a national ground breaking nutrition and cooking program for the past 10 years.
